About
Sohan Lal DAV Govt. Aided Post Graduate College of Education, Ambala City was established in 1939 in Lahore and rehabilitated at Ambala after Independence. It is a reputed Govt. Aided Post Graduate College of Education. This is perhaps the only college of education in north India where NCTE has sanctioned five units of B.Ed. and one unit of M.Ed. Course. The college has been graded as A+ by NAAC in its first cycle and recently last year in the second cycle of NAAC accreditation, the college got the highest A Grade with very high CGPA 3.54/4.00. This institution is also ISO 9001-2000 certified.
The college has been granted Section 2(f) and 12 B of the UGC Act 1956 vide UGC letter No. 8-39/9 (CP/MP) dated 12.6.1984. This is the only college in the North India which could have successfully competed in the Nation wise contest of the Best Integration of Technology in Education. Governor of Punjab, General (Retired) S.F. Rodrigues, bestowed this honour to the college. The college has the credit of being approved and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), a statutory body established by an act of Parliament.
The college is permanently affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra vide KU letter No. CG-II/AFFL/92/8300 dated October 30, 1992.
