About the College
Sohan Lal D.A.V. College of Education, Ambala City is a Government-aided post-graduate college of education. It was founded in Lahore in 1939 and re-established at Ambala after Independence. It is among the few colleges of education in north India for which NCTE has sanctioned five units of B.Ed. and one unit of M.Ed.
The college is permanently affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra (letter CG-II/AFFL/92/8300 of 30 October 1992) and is recognised under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956 (letter F.8-39/9 (CP/MP) of June 1984). It was accredited by NAAC at Grade A with a CGPA of 3.54 on the four point scale in its second cycle, and at A+ level in its first.
The college also holds the distinction of having won the national contest for the Best Integration of Technology in Education, an honour conferred by General (Retd.) S.F. Rodrigues, then Governor of Punjab.
